FOOTBALL
The Virginia Jags Youth Sports Association is a travel tackle football organization based out of Fredericksburg, VA, with athletes from many surrounding counties including, but not limited to Spotsylvania, King George, Stafford, Caroline, Culpeper, and Woodbridge. Ages
What aged athletes are appropriate for this program?
Appropriate athletes are at least 5 years old who have completed at least one year of flag football. We have teams for ages 5-13.
When
What time of the year does this program operate?
Season begins with conditioning in March and can run until Nationals or post-season tournaments in December.
UNIFORMS/EQUIPMENT
Are uniforms and equipment provided or are they purchased separately?
You will need to purchase your own cleats, mouthguard, and practice attire. Uniforms and equipment rental (shoulder pads/helmet) are included in your registration fee. You are allowed to buy your own equipment, however your registration fee will stay the same.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Games will depend on your individual team. Some teams compete in a couple of pre-season weekend tournaments or games in August. Our regular season games are on mostly Saturday's, sometimes Sunday's from September-November. And some teams will compete in post-season weekend tournaments in November-December.
PRACTICES
When are practices and how often are they?
Our teams practice 3 times per week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
EXTRA COSTS
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
Additional costs can include pre-season or post-season tournament and traveling fees, as well as additional uniform or swag gear purchases.
